1960 Gibson ES-330 TD Dot-Neck
Original paperwork; a Dream Guitar and a SLEEPER - Sunburst
You'll have to pry this away from my hands... it is one of my favs in my entire collection! I feel this model has always been hugely under-valued, still playing "catch-up" to the same era ES335 (worth about $40K!). As a big bonus, it has the late 50's Brown Lifton hard-shell case; The guitar is in overall 8.5 condition, EX- condition (won‘t find many cleaner or more original!); extremely LIGHT-WEIGHT and resonant, and the P-90's kill it; It has a story, too. I have original bill of sale and payment contract from Bob Clark Band Instrument in Helena Montana, dated April 1960 (HAS TO BE AN EARLY 1960 guitar!); original owner also penciled his name and town inside f-hole (could be removed); also stamped in there are the model number and the serial (R3555-10) Condition/Originality: dot-neck with excellent fret-wire and Brazilian rosewood; only very light checking throughout (worst is on back of neck closest to headstock), but the sunburst finish has nice strong color and gloss; just some normal wear; desirable dual P-90‘s; everything looks correct on this guitar; I believe it to be all original except for an added strap button. 4-ply PG; correct 'ABR-1' bridge w/ no wire and dual thumbwheels each side; trapeze tail; tuners look original (patented single-line Kluson Deluxes) and are very clean (no rust, bright white buttons), one has a very slightly bent shaft; Truss Rod cover has a break at top screw-hole, ply is consistent with the 59's; I’ve seen the case this is in (same as for a ‘59 335) sell for $600+ alone in its condition (VG)! THIS GUITAR ROCKS!
