1967 Gibson ES-335
- Sunburst
My own guitar from early 70's, I have a letter from Gibson on this guitar. LIFTON orange-lined OHSC; VG+ overall condition, but with some alterations. Has a small doweled hole (looks like a coil tap switch was going to be put there or the 3-way moved); original patent sticker pickups and pots; repl. Schallers were converted back to original ’Kluson Deluxes’ (there are extra holes, filled); original silver-insert witchhat knobs; stop tailpiece conversion done in mid 70’s; bridge was an SG tunamatic, but plugged holes and put on correct ABR-1 patent# bridge; union orange label; slim (1 9/16) neck; finish is EX: very little finish checking and a couple of stand marks on back of neck; but finish is beautiful color and in really nice shape. One corner ding on headstock. Original frets are still great, as is neck in general (nice block inlays!); had a setup and plays fantastic; nice weight at 8.5 lbs; this guitar has a Sprague Black Beauty capacitor, and I was able to see one potcode dating 1966, so the pots are original.
